These Terms of Service govern your use of the TechRevive website and your purchase or use of products and services offered by TechRevive LLC.
By accessing this website, placing an order, purchasing a service, or sending equipment to TechRevive, you agree to these Terms of Service together with any applicable product descriptions, service terms, warranty terms, Shipping Policy, Return & Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website or purchase TechRevive products or services.
1. About TechRevive
TechRevive provides gaming-controller products and services, including:
- professionally refurbished controllers;
- mail-in controller repair services;
- performance upgrade and modification services;
- controller parts, accessories, and related products when offered;
- limited-production Premium Controllers; and
- one-of-one Masterpiece Controllers and related collectible projects when available.
Some product lines may be displayed on the website before they are commercially available. Products identified as Coming Soon, In Development, Pre-Production, or similar are informational and are not available for purchase unless an active purchase option is specifically provided.
2. Eligibility and Website Use
By using this website or placing an order, you represent that you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction or that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian where required.
You may not use the website or TechRevive services for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized purposes.
You may not attempt to interfere with the operation, security, availability, or integrity of the website.
3. Product Information
TechRevive makes reasonable efforts to accurately describe products, services, specifications, pricing, compatibility, condition, and included components. However, minor variations may occur.
Refurbished products may contain cosmetic wear consistent with prior use. When possible, significant cosmetic or functional characteristics will be disclosed in the individual product listing.
Photographs of individually listed refurbished, Premium, or Masterpiece products may represent the exact product being sold when stated in the listing. General service images, development imagery, diagrams, and promotional graphics may be illustrative.
Colors may appear differently depending on the customer's display.
4. Pricing and Payment
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
Applicable taxes, shipping charges, Mail-In Kit charges, optional upgrades, and other costs will be displayed during checkout or configuration when applicable.
For configurable performance upgrade services, the displayed price may change based on the options selected by the customer.
TechRevive reserves the right to correct pricing, description, or configuration errors before fulfilling an order. If a material error affects an already placed order, we will contact the customer before proceeding.
Payment must be successfully authorized before an order is processed unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Order Acceptance
Submitting an order does not necessarily constitute final acceptance by TechRevive.
We may cancel or decline an order when reasonably necessary, including in cases involving:
- payment failure or suspected fraud;
- incorrect pricing or product information;
- unavailable inventory or components;
- unsupported service requests;
- inability to safely perform the requested work; or
- other circumstances that prevent reasonable fulfillment.
If TechRevive cancels an order before providing the purchased product or service, applicable amounts paid for the unfulfilled portion will be refunded.
6. Refurbished Controllers
Refurbished controllers may include previously used original components, replacement components, or upgraded components as described in the applicable listing.
Each refurbished controller is inspected, repaired as needed, cleaned, calibrated when applicable, and function-tested before being offered for sale.
Because refurbished controllers have previously been used, cosmetic wear may remain unless otherwise stated. Customers should review the individual listing and exact-unit photographs carefully before purchasing.
Ordinary returns involving refurbished controllers are governed by the applicable listing and the Return & Refund Policy. Claims involving an alleged covered functional defect in an eligible refurbished controller are governed by the separate Limited Refurbished Controller Warranty.
7. Mail-In Repair Services
Customers purchasing a mail-in repair service authorize TechRevive to inspect, disassemble, diagnose, repair, reassemble, calibrate, and test the submitted controller as reasonably necessary to perform the purchased service.
The customer represents that they own the submitted controller or have authorization from the owner to have it serviced.
Repair services may involve soldering, component replacement, disassembly, cleaning, firmware-compatible calibration procedures, and other technical work appropriate to the repair.
Additional Problems Discovered
A controller may contain additional faults that were not apparent from the customer's original description.
If TechRevive discovers an issue requiring additional paid work outside the originally purchased service scope, we will contact the customer for approval before performing work that would result in additional charges.
The customer is not required to approve additional work. If additional work is declined, TechRevive will perform only the work that can reasonably be completed within the authorized scope and will communicate with the customer if the additional issue prevents completion of the original repair.
8. Performance Upgrade and Modification Services
Customers purchasing performance upgrades authorize TechRevive to modify the submitted controller according to the options selected in the order.
Available modifications may include Hall Effect or TMR joystick systems, mouse-click controls, rear buttons or paddles, and other performance modifications offered on the applicable service page.
The physical implementation of an upgrade may vary between controller platforms even when the functional upgrade is substantially equivalent. For example, one platform may use rear paddles while another uses rear buttons.
Aftermarket modifications may affect or void a manufacturer's original warranty. TechRevive is not responsible for the loss of manufacturer warranty coverage resulting from modifications requested by the customer.
Performance modifications may also alter the feel, actuation, response, or internal construction of the controller compared with its original factory configuration.
9. Customer-Provided Equipment
Before sending equipment to TechRevive, customers should remove unnecessary accessories, removable storage devices, cases, attachments, cables, or other items that are not required for the requested service.
TechRevive will use reasonable care when handling the controller and any additional items reasonably documented as received. Customers should not include unrequested items because contents that were not documented at intake may be difficult to verify.
Customers using the Self-Ship option must package their equipment securely and follow the Shipping Policy.
TechRevive is not responsible for pre-existing damage, undisclosed prior modifications, or conditions that existed before the controller was received.
When appropriate, TechRevive may document the condition of equipment upon receipt.
10. Previously Modified or Repaired Controllers
Customers should disclose known previous repairs, modifications, liquid exposure, physical damage, or other relevant history when placing a service order.
Prior work performed by another person or company may affect repairability, service time, cost, or the ability to diagnose a later problem.
TechRevive is not responsible for defects or damage caused by previous repairs or modifications performed by another party. Previous or later work affects TechRevive warranty coverage only to the extent that the work caused the claimed problem, damaged the covered work or component, changed the controller's configuration, or prevents TechRevive from reasonably determining the cause of the failure.
If previous work prevents the requested service from being completed safely or reasonably, TechRevive will contact the customer to discuss available options.
11. Unrepairable or Unserviceable Controllers
Some controllers may be damaged beyond reasonable repair or may contain conditions that prevent the purchased service from being completed safely or practically.
If TechRevive determines that the requested service cannot reasonably be performed, we will contact the customer.
When the service order is subject to TechRevive's posted diagnostic bench-fee terms, TechRevive will retain $25 of the upfront service payment as a nonrefundable diagnostic bench fee and refund or adjust the remaining eligible service amount as appropriate under the Return & Refund Policy.
Shipping charges, fulfilled Mail-In Kit costs, used prepaid labels, carrier charges, or other expenses already incurred may remain nonrefundable.
Unless otherwise agreed, the controller will be returned to the customer.
12. Service Turnaround
Any service turnaround time stated on the website is an estimate beginning after the controller has been received by TechRevive unless otherwise stated.
Turnaround may be affected by:
- controller condition;
- complexity of the service;
- parts availability;
- order volume;
- additional faults discovered during service;
- customer response time when authorization is needed; or
- circumstances outside TechRevive's reasonable control.
Carrier transit time is separate from service turnaround.
13. Testing and Calibration
TechRevive performs appropriate testing after repair or modification before returning a controller.
Testing procedures may include checks of buttons, joysticks, triggers, D-pad inputs, connectivity, vibration functions, charging, and other relevant controller functions.
Joystick replacements and upgrades are calibrated when appropriate for proper centering and usable input range.
Testing reduces the likelihood of unresolved problems but does not guarantee that electronic or mechanical components will never fail in the future.
14. Premium Controllers
Premium Controllers are limited-production themed controllers designed to combine original visual development, performance-oriented hardware, and practical controller functionality.
Specifications, included features, packaging, accessories, production quantities, warranties, and other details may vary by release.
The applicable product listing will identify the terms and features associated with a specific Premium release.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, information displayed about Premium Controllers while they are in development is preliminary and may change before release.
15. Masterpiece Controllers
Masterpiece Controllers are one-of-one or individually produced collectible projects that may incorporate custom fabrication, sculptural elements, electronics, presentation systems, display components, and other project-specific features.
Masterpiece Controllers may be display-first objects and may not retain the same level of practical gameplay usability as a standard controller.
The functionality, materials, electronics, warranty, care requirements, presentation components, and other characteristics of each Masterpiece will be documented individually.
Where applicable, project-specific terms, documentation, or purchase agreements supplement these Terms of Service and control where they specifically differ.
16. Custom, Limited-Production, and One-of-One Items
Certain products may be manufactured, finished, configured, or customized specifically for a customer or produced in extremely limited quantities.
Return, cancellation, or refund eligibility for these products may differ from standard retail merchandise.
Any special terms will be disclosed on the applicable product page, order documentation, written warranty, or project agreement.
17. Shipping
Shipping procedures are governed by the TechRevive Shipping Policy.
For mail-in services, customers may generally choose between:
- Self-Ship: The customer packages the controller and pays for inbound shipping to TechRevive.
- Mail-In Kit: The customer purchases a TechRevive Mail-In Kit that includes appropriate mail-in materials and a prepaid inbound shipping label.
Standard return shipping following completion of a repair or performance upgrade service is included only where stated on the applicable service page, checkout, or order. Any additional destination-based shipping charge will be shown at checkout or disclosed before it is incurred.
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information.
18. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations
Returns, refunds, service cancellations, exchanges, and related matters are governed by the TechRevive Return & Refund Policy.
Physical merchandise and completed service work are treated differently.
Completed repair or modification labor is generally not treated as a standard retail return once work has begun or been completed.
This does not limit rights associated with a covered defect, TechRevive error, applicable written warranty, or applicable consumer-protection law.
19. Warranties
Warranty claims are separate from ordinary returns and are governed by the written warranty applicable to the specific product or service.
Applicable warranty coverage includes:
- the Limited Repair & Upgrade Service Warranty for eligible repair or upgrade work performed by TechRevive on a customer-owned controller;
- the Limited Refurbished Controller Warranty for an eligible refurbished controller purchased directly from TechRevive;
- the applicable separate written warranty and product terms for a Premium Controller;
- the applicable separate written warranty, project documentation, and purchase terms for a Masterpiece Controller; and
- another product-specific or service-specific written warranty provided by TechRevive when applicable.
A brief warranty summary shown on a product page, service page, order, or promotional area does not replace the complete written warranty. The complete written warranty controls coverage, exclusions, remedies, claim procedures, and any product-specific terms.
Nothing in these Terms of Service expands, reduces, or replaces the coverage provided by an applicable written TechRevive warranty or any right that cannot lawfully be limited.
20. Manufacturer Warranties and Brand Affiliation
TechRevive is an independent business unless otherwise expressly stated.
TechRevive is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorized by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft, Nintendo, or other gaming hardware manufacturers solely by virtue of repairing, modifying, refurbishing, or selling compatible equipment.
Company names, trademarks, controller names, and product names belong to their respective owners and may be used for identification and compatibility purposes.
Aftermarket repair or modification may affect manufacturer warranty coverage.
21. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, TechRevive owns or controls the original content created for this website and its products, including applicable:
- branding;
- graphics;
- written content;
- original controller designs;
- CAD and digital models;
- packaging designs;
- presentation concepts;
- photographs;
- project documentation; and
- other original creative or technical materials.
Purchasing a TechRevive product does not transfer ownership of TechRevive's underlying design files, engineering files, manufacturing methods, branding, or other intellectual property unless expressly agreed in writing.
Customers may resell lawfully purchased physical products, subject to applicable law, but may not represent themselves as TechRevive or reproduce TechRevive branding or proprietary designs for commercial use without authorization.
22. User-Submitted Materials and Communications
If a customer provides photographs, descriptions, specifications, design requests, or other information needed to fulfill an order, the customer represents that they have the right to provide that material.
TechRevive may use submitted information as reasonably necessary to complete the customer's order, provide support, maintain service records, and resolve disputes.
Customer information will otherwise be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
23. Fraud Prevention and Payment Disputes
TechRevive may retain reasonable records relating to orders and services, including order records, communications, serial numbers, photographs, shipping information, diagnostic results, and testing documentation.
Customers are encouraged to contact TechRevive directly if they experience a problem so we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve it.
If a payment dispute or chargeback is filed, TechRevive may submit relevant records and evidence to the payment provider, financial institution, or dispute-resolution service.
Nothing in this section prevents a customer from exercising lawful rights available through their payment provider or applicable law.
24. Unclaimed Customer Equipment
Customers are responsible for responding to reasonable communications concerning equipment left with TechRevive.
If a controller or other customer-owned item remains unclaimed after service is complete, additional information is required from the customer, or the customer has stopped responding, TechRevive may make reasonable attempts to contact the customer using the contact information associated with the order.
Unclaimed equipment may ultimately be handled according to applicable law, including any legally permitted storage, abandonment, disposal, or other procedures.
Nothing in these Terms automatically transfers ownership of customer property to TechRevive merely because a specific number of days has passed.
25. Third-Party Services
The TechRevive website may rely on third-party services including Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, application providers, analytics providers, and other service providers.
TechRevive does not control every aspect of these third-party systems and is not responsible for outages, delays, errors, or failures caused solely by third-party services outside our reasonable control.
Your use of certain third-party services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.
26. Website Availability
TechRevive does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the website.
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, third-party service interruptions, updates, or other circumstances.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue website features when reasonably necessary.
27. Errors and Omissions
Occasionally, information on the website may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, omissions, outdated information, or configuration errors relating to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, availability, or other information.
TechRevive reserves the right to correct these errors and update information when discovered.
If a material error affects an existing order, we will contact the customer before making a change that materially affects the purchase.
28. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TechRevive will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from use of the website, products, or services.
TechRevive is not responsible for loss of gameplay progress, tournament opportunities, business opportunities, profits, or other indirect losses resulting from controller downtime or product failure.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, property damage, or any other liability to the extent that it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Any limitation of liability will be applied only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
29. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold TechRevive LLC harmless from claims, losses, or expenses arising from your unlawful use of the website, violation of these Terms, infringement of another party's rights, or submission of equipment that you did not have authorization to repair or modify.
This provision does not require a customer to indemnify TechRevive for TechRevive's own unlawful conduct.
30. Governing Law
These Terms and transactions with TechRevive are governed by applicable United States federal law and the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally may be brought before a court with lawful jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms removes any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.
31. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted or severed where necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
32. No Waiver
If TechRevive does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not constitute a permanent waiver of the provision or of the right to enforce it later.
33. Changes to These Terms
TechRevive may update these Terms from time to time as the business, products, services, or applicable requirements change.
The current version will be posted on this website with an updated revision date.
Changes generally apply prospectively and do not retroactively alter specific written terms that already govern a completed transaction unless required by law or agreed by the parties.
